Join us for an introduction to the practice of Taichi and Qigong, two health-promoting practices with common roots. We’ll learn a little bit about what differentiates the two, their philosophical origins, and the core principles that are fundamental to both. We’ll learn about standing meditation, an essential practice that integrates the mind, body and universe. Instruction will be provided on selected movements from the Eight Brocades and Taichi 24 Form, with care to modify strenuous aspects of the exercises for all skill levels and body types. Woven through the seminar will be information about specific acupoints we can activate, through self-massage or focused attention, to deepen our self-care. Our goal will be to come away feeling more settled within our bodies, so we may move through life with less exertion and more ease.
